LAHORE: PML-N Punjab President Rana Sanaullah could not appear before the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Monday because he was busy in the National Assembly session. Sanaullah’s lawyer appeared before the NAB and told it that he (Sanaullah) was busy in a session in the National Assembly and sought time for his appearance.

The NAB had initiated income beyond means investigation against the Punjab’s former law minister following his bail in the narcotics case from the Lahore High Court. According to the PML-N, launching of new investigation against Sanaullah proves his innocence in the drug recovery case.

“NAB-Niazi nexus launched new investigation after failing to prove anything in narcotics case against him,” it said, adding when the PTI government failed to suppress opposition with other cases, it came up with “notorious” assets beyond means investigation.
