NAWABSHAH, Aug 21: A case was registered against an Awam Dost Panel candidate for the post of nazim and his two brothers on Sunday for stealing irrigation water.

The 60-Miles police booked Rajab Ali Rind, ADP candidate for the post of UC Jhuro Sher nazim, his brothers, Zulfiqar Rind and Akbar Rind, councillor candidate, in water theft case under the Irrigation Act 61/62.

A large number of people of UC Jhuro Sher staged a demonstration outside the press club in protest against police for registering a fake case.

They raised slogans and blocked the press club road by staging a sit-in.

CANVASSING: The election campaign for the second phase of the local body elections has reached its peak with major political parties, backing different panels, canvassing to attract maximum number of voters from four talukas of the district.

Former District Nazim Faryal Talpur, her sister MNA Dr Azra Pechuho, MNA Ghulam Mustafa Shah and MPA Ghulam Qadir Chandio and MPA Tariq Masood Arain were supporting Awam Dost Panel by arranging corner meetings in different union councils of their respective areas.

The adviser to the Sindh chief minister, Ghulam Rasool Unnar, former minister and President PML District Nawabshah, Khan Mohammad Dahri, adviser to chief minister, Mushtaq Raho and the district general secretary of the Pakistan Muslim League, Syed G.M. Shah were campaigning for the Nawabshah Awami Ittehad.

The special assistant to the Sindh chief minister, Abdul Rauf and zonal organizer of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement, Nawabshah, Anwar Saleem Khanzada were appealing the people to vote for the Haq Parast candidates.

Likewise, Syed Zain Shah and Syed Munir Shah were campaigning for the Nawabshah United Front and Syed Zahid Hussain Shah and Pir Mehendi Shah for PML-F backed Faqir Dost Panel candidates.
