ISLAMABAD: A play titled Pakistan ka Beta was performed at the Pakistan National of Arts (PNCA) auditorium on Monday highlighting human rights violations being carried out against the people of India-held Kashmir.

The play written by Ishtiaq Aatish was first staged in 1988 in Liaquat Memorial Hall, Rawalpindi and was arranged by PNCA to commemorate Kashmir Solidarity Day, which is observed on Feb 5.

Kashmiri performers skillfully showcased their talents on stage as the play’s story line highlighted the Indian government’s agenda in Kashmir and parts of Pakistan.

The play ended by asking why the international community was not playing an active role in resolving the longstanding Kashmir dispute in accordance with the United Nations Charter.

Following the play, a cultural show was presented featuring Kashmiri folk music and dance.

The cultural show featured songs including Sohnya Kashmir Marya Sohnya Kashmir,Mane Di Moj Wich Hasna, Mere Watan Teri Jannat Mein,Dekh Tu Yeh Wadi-i-Kashmir Hai,Her Zuban Pe Nara-i-Takbeer Hai,Laho Mangti Hai Channaron Ki Darti by Kashmiri singers Abdul Basit, Mubashra Hafiz, Adnan Raza, Imran Khan, Bano Rehmat, Bushra Sadiq.

A performance of the Kashmiri dance Mahi Kashmir Dea was also presented by artists from the National Performing Arts Group.
