GWADAR: Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan Alyani has said that the overall development of Gwadar, addressing problems of local people and their full participation in the development process were priorities of his government.

During his visit to Gwadar old town on Monday, he said: “Reservations of Gwadar’s people regarding the development process will be removed.”

Without participation of local people the process of development would be meaningless, he added.

The chief minister discussed with the local people their issues. He also enjoyed tea with them. He said the trust of people of Gwadar would be restored.

Mr Alyani said all basic facilities would be ensured in the old town and the view of local people would be given importance in this regard.

He directed the director general of the Gwadar Development Authority and deputy commissioner of Gwadar to address the issues of the old town.

The chief minister called upon local businessmen to take full benefit of the opportunities created by the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor and expand their businesses.
