FAISALABAD: Two boys got registered a case against their fathers who got their heads and eyebrows shaved as a punishment for allegedly stealing money from their homes.

Submitting an application to Chak Jhumra police, Farman Ali,16, said his father Basharat Ali, along with Ikram, the father of his friend, Danish, got their eyebrows and heads shaved, alleging they had stolen Rs50,000 from our homes.

He said their fathers took both of them to the barber’s shop, where Akhtar Ali, forcibly shaved their heads and eyebrows.

On their complaint, the police registered a case under sections 34, 337-V and 355 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) against Basharat, Ikram and Akhtar Ali.

Basharat and Ikram, both residents of Chak 163-RB, are in police custody.

The police said the case was registered after the complainants produced medico-legal certificates.

ROBBERY: A gang of robbers looted a mobile phone shop in Khurrianwala Chowk on Saturday.

Reports said a gang of three armed robbers barged in a mobile shop and collected the sale cash in the presence of customers.

The robbers resorted to aerial firing while leaving the shop when the shopkeeper tried to call people for help.

Some of the locals chased the fleeing robbers but to no avail.

Locals said though the shop was situated near Khurrianwala police station, no policeman bothered to chase the robbers despite aerial firing by them.

Some of them claimed that when the robbers resorted to aerial firing at Khurrianwala Chowk some policemen were also present there, but they looked the other way.

Following the incident, shopkeepers staged a protest demonstration against police for failing to protect them.

They demanded an inquiry into the alleged police inaction.

Police said investigation into the incident had been launched, adding that no case had been registered so far.
