MANSEHRA: Assailants shot dead an army subedar and left his wife and sister seriously injured in Garhi Habibullah area here on Tuesday.

Police said accused Khan Afsar stated to be a police inspector, his brother, Arif and two other accused, Mohammad Akram and Waqar Shah came to the house of Subedar Ajmal Hussain, who was on leave, and opened indiscriminate fire, leaving the army man, his wife and a sister seriously injured.

The locals rushed to the scene and shifted the injured to a nearby hospital where doctors pronounced Ajmal dead.

The police after lodging FIR started raids to arrest the accused who managed to flee the area following the incident.
