GUJRAT: Six members of a family who were said to be suffering from speech and hearing impairment, were burnt to death in a fire at their home at Aach Goch village on Sunday.

Naseem Bibi, a widow, along with her sons Kashif, 26, and Faisal, 30, and daughter Madiha, had been living in the house and her two married daughters Tayaba and Zubia had also come to spend a few days. The six members of the family were burnt alive in the fire that erupted late on Saturday night probably due to a short-circuit.

Relatives got to know about the incident in the morning and sought help of a Rescue 1122 team. The bodies were burnt beyond recognition and the relatives declined to shift these to morgue for autopsy, said the rescue officials. The Rescue 1122 and district administration officials did not confirm the cause of the fire. Police said they were investigating the incident.
