TOBA TEK SINGH, Aug 17: Punjab Forest Minister and PML district president Dr Ashfaqur Rehman has claimed that Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervez Elahi has directed him to support former MNA Chaudhry Abdul Sattar for district nazim slot.

At a press conference held here on Wednesday at the office of Mr Sattar, the minister said Col Naveed Gill had been nominated for tehsil nazim seat as PML-supported candidate.

PML-N former MPA Sardar Masood Khan Gadhi, former PPP leader Ghiasuddin Janbaz and PML functional district president Pirzada Mansoor Javed were also present.

He refuted the claim of former district nazim Chaudhry Ashfaq that he was being backed by the PML.

Dr Ashfaq further said that there were a lot of complaints against Chaudhry Ashfaq, while most of the ruling party parliamentarians had also requested the chief minister to extend support to Chaudhry Sattar and Col Naveed.

He warned that a strict action would be taken against Chaudhry Ashfaq if he violated the party decision.
