KHAIRPUR: 450 suspects arrested

KHAIRPUR, Aug 17: During a campaign of one and a half months against absconding criminals and proclaimed offenders, 450 such elements have been arrested in the district. The arrested accused included one proclaimed offender, who was wanted in the murder cases of the former president of Anjuman-i-Tajiran, Khairpur, Haji Yar Mohammad Shaikh, and poultry trader Abdul Malik.

Investigation SP Abdul Ahad Sangri and senior DSP investigation Ghulam Akbar Wagan told newsmen here on Wednesday that a campaign was launched against criminals, wherein proclaimed offender Mahram Chandio, the main accused in the murder case of Haji Yar Mohammad Shaikh was arrested.

Three other accused identified as Sadoro, Aijaz and Mir Mohammad, all by caste Rajpar wanted in the murder case of poultry farm owner Abdul Malik Shar have also been arrested and the motorcycle of t5he deceased and one Kalashnikov, on pistol and one gun used in the murder have also been recovered from their possession.

They further said that one Ghulam Ali Chandio and Rano Jagirani were arrested who belong to dacoit Piyaro Mari, one Majid Jhangly, resident of Kot Diji, member of a provincial motorcycle hijackers group was arrested and six motorcycles have also been recovered from their.
