KARACHI: Saad Saleem, Noor-e-Mustafa and Amir Mumtaz beat their respective rivals in the first round mens singles category while Faraz Ali, Ammar Ismail also won their match in the under-18 category at the 7th Indus Pharma National Seniors & Juniors Tennis Sindh Ranking Championship which commenced at the Union Club on Saturday.In the under-14 category, Kashan Tariq beat Nibras Malik while Nadir Mirza cruised past Rahim Waqar in the first round.

Saeed Ismail, Chairman Indus Pharma, was the chief guest at opening ceremony and announced to continue supporting the championships in 2021 also.

Khalid Rehmani, Vice President Pakistan Tennis Federation thanked the chief guest for supporting the event for the seventh successive year and informed that STA is introducing new venues in Karachi and Hyderabad and will also hold a ranking tournament at Tando Jam also in Feb this year.

Men’s Singles (1st Round): Saad Saleem beat Hashir Sohail 6-3, 6-1; Noor e Mustafa beat Hamza Ahmed 6-0, 6-1; Amir Mumtaz beat Saad Ahmed 6-0, 6-1

Juniors U-18 Singles (1st round): Faraz Ali beat Wajahat. 6-4, 10-4; Ammar Ismail beat Yahya Qasim, 6-0, 6-1.

Under 14 Singles (1st Round): Kashan Tariq beat Nibras Malik 4-0, 4-0; Nadir Mirza beat Rahim Veqar 4-1, 4-1; Samer Zaman beat Ahisam Malik 4-0, 4-0

Under 12 Singles (1st round): Shaan Siddiq beat Haseeb Umair 4-0, 4-2; Muzammil Yaseen beat Mustaqeem 5-3, 5-4

Under 10 (1st round): Sabrina Khan beat Uzamil Yasin 4-1, 4-1; Laraib Shamsi beat Eshal Zain 5-3, 4-5 (15-13) 4-2; Hamza Tahir beat Ibrahim Saad 4-2, 4-0; Farjam Khan beast Aman sheikh 4-1, 4-1.
