HYDERABAD: Sindh Secretary for Industries Dr Naseemul Ghani Sehto has said that the amount of water being supplied to Hyderabad SITE will be maximised since more industries are coming here.

Addressing members of the business community at Hyderabad Chamber of Small Traders and Small Industry here on Tuesday, he said that an allottee of industrial plot had to complete construction within the stipulated time failing which the plot would stand cancelled.

Inviting chamber president Doulat Ram Lohana to meet him in Karachi for a detailed meeting, he said he would ask SITE engineers to brief him about all problems of the area. Efforts would be made to resolve all those problems, he said.

Mr Lohana in his address of welcome expressed concern over the fact that issues confronting industrialists in SITE phase-II remained unresolved.

He presented a set of demands to the secretary industries pertaining to provision of facilities for 350 industrial units, empowering SITE engineers, functioning of filtration plant, provision of water to SITE area, desilting of drains etc.

He said the rental fee of industrial plots had been increased from Rs10 to Rs50 per sq ft, which was 500pc up. He said the fee should be rationalised.
