GILGIT: National Winter games competitions including 18th Saadia Khan Cup (National Skiing Champ­ionship), Children’s Ski Cup, third Snowboarding Comp­etition, third Ice Skating Competition and second Ice Hockey Competition concluded here in Naltar on Sunday.

The events were organised by the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) base Kalabagh and Winter Sports Federation Pakistan.

Ten teams from all over Pakistan including Punjab, Sindh, Islamabad, Gilgit-Baltistan and teams from Pakistan Army, Pakistan Air Force, GB Scouts and various associations.

Adventure Foundation, CAA and PLP Trust also featured in different disciplines.

Gilgit-Baltistan Sports Association (GBSA) won the 18th Sadia Khan Ski Cup and Children Ski Cup (girls category) whereas PAF took the lead in the Children Ski Cup (boys category).

In Girls ski competition’s under-14 and under-16 categories, GBSA clinched the trophies while PAF won the trophies in the boys’ under-16 and under-14 categories and also in ice hockey.

In the women’s slalom category, Umaima Wali was awarded gold medal whereas Jiya Ali got the silver medal. In the children ski competition girl’s under-14 slalom Mishal Hussain won the gold medal while Marrium Iqbal was awarded the silver medal.

In boys under-16, Saifullah won gold medal while Zubair Ali got silver medal. The gold medal in boys under-14 slalom category was clinched by Zaman Ali, while Zahirullah clinched silver.

In the women’s giant slalom category, Khusheen Sahiba won the gold medal whereas Humaima Wali was awarded the silver medal.

In boys’ skating category-I Mohammad Iqbal was awarded the gold medal. In the Speed Skating competition girls Under-12, Mishal Hussain won gold. In girls under-16, Minhal Aziz was awarded the gold medal while in the master category, Khusheen Sahiba won the gold medal.
