Fire breaks out at NICVD

KARACHI: A fire broke out inside the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD) on Saturday, which triggered fear and panic among patients and staff but no one was hurt in the incident, said officials.

A fire brigade official said that the blaze erupted on the second floor of the NICVD at around 8.40am.

The KMC fire department also launched a rescue operation and with the help of a snorkel rescued one security guard safely. Two fire engines managed to extinguish the fire at around 1pm.
