KARACHI: Prime Minister Imran Khan was briefed by the Sindh Infrastructure Development Company Limited in a meeting on Friday in which he was informed that the federal government had released the full amount of funds allocated for the Sindh Package for this fiscal year.

In an official handout, it was said that Muhammad Sualeh Farooqui, CEO, SIDCL, gave a detailed briefing to Prime Minister Imran Khan.

Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Minister for Privatisation, Mohammad Mian Soomro, Minister for Water Resources Faisal Vawda, Maritime Affairs Minister Syed Ali Zaidi, adviser to PM on finance Dr Abdul Hafiz Shaikh, Usman Dar, Sindh Governor Imran Ismail, and members of the National Assembly and the Sindh Assembly attended the meeting.

The PM was told that his government had released the total allocations for the Sindh Package for the current fiscal in full.

Mr Farooqui further said the first phase of the Green Line Project, which included construction works, had been completed. However, the operational phase would be submitted to the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council for approval.

The PM was informed that the projects vis-à-vis provision of filtration plants and hospitals in Thar district would be completed soon.

The prime minister directed the relevant authorities to ensure completion of all those projects on time.
