KARACHI: Shaheed-e-Millat IX beat Allama Iqbal XI 42-38 in the final to win the title of SSB Cup basketball tournament here at Abdul Nasir Basketball Courts, Arambagh on Wednesday.

Scorers for the winners in this closely-fought contest were Usman Khawaja (14) points, Ubaid Hafeez (13) points while Saad Salahuddin scored (11) points.

For the losing side, Hamza Parwani scored (12) points while Shariq Suleman and Hamza Khawaja scored (10) points each.

Pakistan American Culture Centre President Syed Makhdoom Ali Riaz was the chief guest and gave away trophies and cash prizes at the concluding ceremony.

Speaking on the occasion, he said he was impressed by the quality of game presented by both teams and termed the event a best way to pay homage to Father of the Nation Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.

The event was organized by KBBA in collaboration with Sindh Sports Board to pay homage to Father of the Nation Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
