KARACHI: Two men were shot at and wounded by suspected robbers over resistance on University Road near the Mosamiyat roundabout in Gulistan-i-Jauhar on Wednesday, police said.

They added that Sajjad Khan, 21, and Mobin, 40, drew cash from an ATM of a private bank and were on their way riding a motorbike. The robbers on another motorcycle intercepted them and snatched the cash and other valuables from them on the main road near an online taxi service terminus in Block-4 of Gulistan-i-Jauhar.

As they put up resistance, the robbers opened fire on them and fled with the loot.

They were taken to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre, where their condition was critical, said a hospital official.

Sajjad received bullet wounds in the neck, hip and right hand and Mobin also sustained multiple bullet injuries in the left leg, abdomen and head, added the official.

Police said that the wounded were not in a position to give their statements to the investigators.
