LAHORE, Aug 15: Thoroughbred Pakistani fillies, Miss Photogenic and Poly Nest won the two main Azadi Cups on Sunday. The former won by a half-length while the latter registered an easy success. Both the fillies owned by Khawaja M. Arif and trained by Mubarik Ali were ridden by jockey Aamar Parvaiz.

However, the Independence Day’s riding honours were claimed by Shahid Rehman, who won three cup events. In the opener he rode Jia Jee, Millennium Count and Carolous Court.

All other races were held over the sprinting distance of 1200m.

Another filly, Storm Warning steered by Javaid Iqbal won the Independence Day Cup by a distance from Savera.
