SUKKUR: The Sukkur bench of the Sindh High Court on Monday suspended accountability court’s orders dated Dec 17 to grant bail to veteran leader of Pakistan Peoples Party Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah in a case of assets beyond means and summoned him and his 17 co-accused to the court on Jan 16 next year.

A double bench comprising Justices Naimatullah Phulpoto and Khadim Hussain Tunio passed the order while hearing an application filed by the National Accountability Bureau against the grant of bail. The 17 other co-accused nominated in the NAB reference had already obtained bail before arrest from the high court.

When the court asked Khursheed Shah’s counsel, advocate Mukesh Kumar Karira, about his client’s absence he said he did not receive the court’s notice. On this, NAB prosecutor Zubair Malik said that the accused did receive the notice.
