KARACHI: Defending champion Neighbourhood Club beat Omega Basketball Club 50-47 in a pulsating final to retain the title of fourth Essa Lab Basketball tournament, organised by the Karachi Basketball Association in collaboration with Essa Lab here at Abdul Nasir Court in Arambagh on Thursday night.

Abdullah Shah (16 points), Raja Jahanzeb (14 points) and Sami Gilani (12 points) were the main scorers for the winners in this close contest.

For the losing side, Taimur Zaheer scored (12 points) while Abbas Abid Qaim Khan (10 points) and Usman Khalid (10 points) also played well.

Later Col (retd) Syed Baseer Ahmed, Sports Manager KPT, who was the chief guest on the occasion, gave away trophies and individual prizes to players.

Omega Club’s Abbas Qaimkhani and Neighbourhood Club’s Sami Gilani were declared joint Man of the Match.
