MANSEHRA, Aug 13: A former member of the Mansehra tehsil council and his brother, who were arrested on charges of car-lifting and involvement in other offences, were remanded to five days police custody by a judicial magistrate here on Saturday.

District Police Officer (DPO) Yamin Khan appeared before the magistrate on duty, Hinna Khan, on behalf of the prosecution, while accused Ibrar alias Iqbal Bala and brother Ashiq Hussain alias Kala were represented by lawyer Sajjad Afzal.

The DPO presented the case against the accused and sought their remand in police custody which was allowed by the court.

The accused were booked by the police on Friday under Article 17 (3) of the Haraabah (Hudood Ordinance) after they were allegedly found in possession of a stolen car.
