Jacobabad problems

Published December 11, 2019

JACOBABAD is the PTI’s only constituency in the interior of Sindh, yet even a year later, the city remains deprived of development which was promised by the PTI during the election campaign.

Jacobabad remained underdeveloped when it used to be a PPP stronghold. Today, under PTI, it lacks basic facilities. The city has a poor healthcare system with no cardiac and trauma centre.

One may argue that these issues should be resolved by the provincial government. But what about water and energy crises and contaminated water? There is still 12-hour electricity loadshedding in many city areas.

Prime Minister Imran Khan’s lack of interest in Sindh may cost him heavily in the future. The public has already lost confidence in the PTI’s MNA and MPAs. The problems being faced by Jacobabad people are not new, for it was the apathy of the PPP which resulted in the people’s trust in Imran Khan.
