CDA operation

Published December 8, 2019

ON the morning of Nov 2, the Capital Development Authority’s anti-encroachment wing went on a rampage without warning on the south service road of the Blue Area, destroying my hospital generator cage installed after a written CDA permission in 2009, now twice in three years.

In addition, the metal stairs from the back of the ground floor which is 10-foot high to the service road was totally destroyed as it was considered an encroachment. Will the 100 plus people working on the four floors of the plaza jump 10 feet to save their lives in case of a fire?

I paid Rs30,000 to get it installed as a fire escape and as an alternative exit to the north service road .

The generator worth Rs1.5 million had to be caged as batteries and diesel were being stolen and it cost me Rs50,000. Who will be responsible if a patient dies during an electricity outage?
