Divorce in plays

Published December 7, 2019

THIS refers to our TV dramas which frequently show divorces. Indeed, religiously and socially, it is the last option a man can exercise in extreme situation as it has huge social implications and adverse effects on family life, particularly children, who often are hurt psychologically after the separations.

I would strongly urge our drama writers and producers to promote tolerance and forgiveness in their plays.

Divorce on petty issues and portraying such an act so causally in our drama is an ugly message to our society and future generations.

Of course, divorce is allowed in certain extreme situations, but our media must promote our values instead of aping other societies.
