KARACHI: Six wheelchair tennis players were selected in the first stage for the 4th Sindh Sports Board Wheelchair Tennis Coaching Camp which was inaugurated at the Union Club by Sindh Olympic Association Secretary Ahmed Ali Rajput on Saturday.

The selected players are Muhammad Irfan, Muhammad Ayub Khan, Fida Hussain, Muhammad Amjad, Muhammad Shahbaz and Muhammad Ali. A few more players will be added in the next 15 days.

Ahmed Rajput highlighted the continuous tennis activities by Sindh Tennis Association and suggested regular competitions for wheelchair tennis players. Technical support for the camp is being provided by Para Sports Pakistan .

Khalid Rehmani, Vice President PTF (wheelchair) announced that these selected players will be given competition opportunities in one provincial and two national tournaments in coming months.

Sana Ali, the newly-elected POA women executive member, also spoke at the inauguration ceremony and thanked Sindh Sports Board for their continuous support.

Ishrat Zehra, Vice President Para Sports Pakistan, informed that for the first time ever wheelchair tennis team of Para Sports Pakistan is taking part in the Rangers Special Persons School on the eve of International Disabled Day on Dec 3.

The selection committee comprises Khalid Rehmani, Ishrat Zehra, Aqeel Shabbir and Iram Tazeen.
