MUZAFFARGARH: A trader of Sarwar Shaheed Chowk who was allegedly kidnapped by unidentified men on Sunday returned home on Monday.

The family of Muhammad Bilal as well as traders held a protest at Chowk Sarwar Shaheed against his kidnap.

Khangarh police said a case had been registered against Bilal with them on Nov 15 after a cheque worth Rs5m given by him to one Abdul Aziz in a business deal was dishonoured. Abdul Aziz had registered a complaint with Khangarh Police Station for registration of the case.

Bilal alleged that he was tortured by a sub-inspector of the Khanghar police who had a personal grudge against him.

He alleged the police officer was behind his abduction by unidentified men who had shifted him to an unknown place. He said a fake case was registered against him and he had no business deal with Aziz.

DPO: DPO Syed Nadeem Abbas, on the first day in office, held an open court and received complaints.

He issued directions to his subordinates for resolution of cases and directed them to ensure merit and have a better behaviour with the public.
