An example

DISASTERS because of climate change are taking place all over the world and Pakistan is among the top 10 countries affected the most in the world. All nations need to make a collective effort to reverse the impact of climate change. However, since we are among one of the worst affected nations, we need to put in extra individual efforts.

In this regard, some young people from Karam Shah village in Chiniot district are doing something that every Pakistani must emulate. They have planted more than 20,000 trees in a three-square kilometre radius.

That is not all, they have also built a swimming pool by collecting donations from individuals. Likewise, they encourage all locals to produce organic food and educate the people in properly dumping their waste to ensure a clean and green Pakistan.

This initiative significantly improved the climate of the village and it soon became a sight of lush green trees and clean streets which catch the eye of the passersby. Painting is silent poetry and poetry is painting that speaks. They painted the main walls of the village with meaningful motifs to spread the message of love and peace.

The people have turned their village into an agri toursim village.

If other young people also follow their example, it would go a long way toward combating climate change and making our country safe for generations to come. He who plants a tree plants a hope.
