Humair effort goes in vain

KARACHI, Aug 11: Despite a superb spell of five wickets by Muhammad Humair Iqra University suffered 120 runs defeat at the hands of Muhammad Ali Jinnah University (MAJU) in PCB Inter-university tournament on Thursday at TMC Ground.

Humair claimed five wickets for 28 but MAJU still managed to post a commanding total of 277 runs batting first. Farhan Saeed (66) and Azfar Irfan (57) were the major contributors. Raheel Abbas (33) and Farrukh Musheer (29) also chipped in with useful scores.

Iqra Univesity in reply were bowled out for 157 with only Waqar Sheikh (56) showing defiance.

In another match at Regional Cricket Ground, Abdul Hadi by Grabbing four wickets helped Greenwich University to a three wickets win over Federal Urdu University (FUU).

At KCCA Stadium, Institute of Business Management (IBM) suffered a five wicket defeat against Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology (SSUET). Adnan Ali’s glittering inning of 61 runs for the winners was the highlight of the match.
