NAWABSHAH, Aug 11: Returning officers of the district have complained to the Election Commission and the district returning officer about non-cooperation of the DCO.

Senior civil judge and returning officer Mohammad Manazirul Haq complained about the attitude of the DCO to the district returning officer.

He said the DCO was not providing vehicles to the election staff. He alleged that when he asked for vehicles, the DCO misbehaved with him and used abusive language.

He claimed that the DCO also threatened him with dire consequences and accused him of demanding luxurious cars for his personal use.

He demanded that the district returning officer should conduct an inquiry against the DCO.

In a letter to the Election Commission secretary, civil judge and returning officer Aijaz Ali Khaskheli also criticized the DCO for not providing transport facility to the staff which was affecting the election work.

WORKSHOP: The Aurat Foundation and the District Coordination Council organized an awareness workshop at the HM Khoja High School here on Thursday to provide information to woman candidates about different phases of the local body elections.

Nawabshah assistant election commissioner Ali Asghar Siyal was the chief guest on the occasion.

MEETING: A meeting was held at the Indus Rangers rest house here on Thursday to discuss the law and order situation and arrangements for the local body elections in Nawabshah, Naushahro Feroze and Sanghar districts.

Pakistan Rangers director general Maj-Gen Javed Zia presided over the meeting.
