MURREE: Police have arrested five members of a gang allegedly involved in robbery and racketeering.

A police source said that Sub-Inspector Yasir Mehmood arrested the suspects, who belonged to different districts.

The suspects are from Abbottabad, and were allegedly led by a robber involved in various cases. They used veils to escape after committing robberies.

The suspects are accused of robbing commercial centres, shops and houses. During interrogation, the suspects confessed to robberies in Rawalakot, Kashmir, Abbottabad, Muzaffarabad, Murree and Phagwari.

ASP Murree Abdul Latif Mehar told Dawn that one of the suspects was caught with the help of fingerprints and mobile phone data who then directed police towards the rest.
