KARACHI: Talented Ashar Mir pairing with Ahmed Nael Queshi of Islamabad outplayed the pair of Zain Ehtisham and Nadir Mirza 6-0, 6-4 to clinch the boys doubles title at Rotary Club Karachi (Sports) ATF U-14 Super Series Tennis Championship here at the DA Creek Club on Friday.

In the first set Ashar and Nael displayed quality tennis and did not allow their opponents to to settle down with their powerful strokes from the base line. Ashar and Nael won the first set without conceding a single game by 6-0. In the second set, the score went up to 3-3 all as players held their respective service.

Ashar-Nael then built up a lead of 5-3 and won the second set at 6-4 by holding their own service with the help of two aces. The match lasted one hour 10 minutes and was officiated by Aftab Hussain.

Ashar and Nael gained 200 valuable ranking points where as Nadir and Zain gained 120 ranking points.

Meanwhile, Ashar Mir will face Ahmed Nael Qureshi in the boys singles final on Saturday at 4.00pm and Zain Ehtisham will meet Ibrahim Noman Yousaf in the third and fourth position match.

The finals and the closing ceremony will be held on Saturday at 5:00pm. Dr. Kalim Imam, IG Police Sindh has consented to be the chief guest.
