TIMERGARA: Medical superintendent of the district headquarters hospital, Timergara, Dr Mohammad Ali has said that doctors’ private practice on the premises of the health facility has been banned and no one will be allowed to violate the instruction.

Talking to journalists on Monday, he said the record of OPD, laboratory and CT scan had been computerised, adding the doctors’ hostel had also been vacated of irrelevant persons. The MS said medicines worth of Rs25 million were being purchased to overcome shortage.

The official said Rs4m had been set aside for purchase of lifesaving drugs. He said the hospital staff had been made bound to provide every possible relief to the patients. He said the management had been preparing a plan to smoothly run the causality ward after the INGO Medicines Sans Frontier wound up its services at the hospital.

Meanwhile, additional assistant commissioner, Timergara, Adnan Khan on Monday paid surprise visits to markets on the directives of deputy commissioner Saadat Hassan and booked two shopkeepers for violating official pricelist. The official also imposed fine of Rs10,000 each on the profiteers.

During checking the price magistrate observed the weight of bread (roti) and directed the nanbais to display the official pricelist at a visible place at their outlets. He also directed the nanbais to keep digital scale in front of their shops so consumers could check the weight of bread.
