TIMERGARA: Three persons, including a woman, were killed and as many injured when a van plunged into a ravine at Pano Siar Darra in Timergara here on Saturday, residents and police said.

They said the van was carrying the people from Siar Darra to Timergara to attend a wedding ceremony. The vehicle went out of the driver’s control at Pano Siar and plunged into a gorge.

As a result, three persons, including wife of Kabir Khan, Iqbal and a minor girl, Dua Bibi, were killed on the spot. The injured included Sheraz, wife of Sher Ali and Murtaza of Shamshi Khan Talash. The dead and the injured were shifted to the district headquarters hospital, Timergara, from where the bodies were dispatched to their villages. The police registered a case and started investigations.

Meanwhile, a five-year-old girl was killed in firing in the air during a wedding function at Kotigram in Ouch.

Police arrested the groom identified as Wajidullah and started investigations. The victim was identified as Khadija.

Meanwhile, a Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf activist, Kamil Khan, announced to quit the party and join the Jamaat-i-Islami at a function in Rabat the other day.

On the occasion, Kamil Khan said he was impressed by the JI chief Sirajul Haq’s modesty and simplicity. He said the nation had wrongly attached expectations with Imran Khan who had failed to fulfill his pledges made with the nation and the youth. Former MPA Izazul Mulk Afkari also spoke on the occasion.
