Safety at Careem

Published November 17, 2019

I HAVE worked for Careem and am a consistent user of their service. Its management is conscious of its responsibility towards the community. Therefore it has a trust and safety initiatives protocol to ensure customers get safe rides.

Their safety precautions include providing the details of the car along with the vehicle captain’s picture and contact number. Before a customer can ride they are sent a push notification to check if they were boarding the right vehicle.

Careem has recently launched a chat feature other than the call feature that allows an individual to report their concerns for immediate response. It has a dedicated trust and safety department working around the clock to address safety and security issues for both customers and captains. The helpline is available for customers who want to report a matter.

Avoiding all forms of harassment are a top priority. The organisation has strict policies for blocking captains from using their platform if found guilty against a complaint.
