TAXILA: Two women were killed in a traffic accident in Attock on Thursday.

Rescue 1122 and hospital sources said the head-on collision between a passenger van and a Suzuki van on Fatehjang-Pindigheb road near Dhurnal police checkpost also left six people injured.

The deceased were identified as Sarwar Bibi and her mother-in-law Begum Jan.

The injured - Sabir, Irshad Iqbal, Aysia Bibi, Khursheed Begum, Anwar Bibi and Naseem Akhter - were shifted to the THQ hospital from where three of them were referred to Rawalpindi due to their critical condition.

Shot dead

A 55-year-old man was shot dead over an old enmity in Attock, said the police.

Abdul Sattar, a hotel owner, was returning home in his pickup when two masked men riding a motorcycle targeted him.
