NAROWAL, Aug 9: There are no X-ray, ECG and other pathological facilities in the emergency ward of the District Headquarters Hospital after 2pm. It is learnt that the people brought to emergency ward can use these facilities due to availability of paramedical staff and laboratory technicians in the morning. After 2pm, when the staff leaves after their duty, patients in need of emergency treatment have to rush to private clinics or service providers.

When contacted, hospital medical superintendent Dr Zulfiqar said on Monday the shortage of staff forced the administration to close these facilities after 2pm.

He said these services could be provided round the clock when adequate staff would be provided to the hospital. However, he could give exact date by which the staff would be recruited.

Meanwhile, various social organizations and human rights association have demanded recruitment of staff so that these facilities could be provided to patients.
