KHAIRPUR: The Pir of Ranipur, Syed Baggan Shah Jillani, died in a Karachi hospital on Sunday, family sources said.

The body was taken to his native town, Sobhodero, in Ranipur taluka for funeral, attended by a large number of his devotees, besides family members, relatives and friends. He was buried with­in the courtyard of Dastagir shrine.

The shrine’s custodian (Sajjada Nasheen), Pir Syed Sooraj Dastagir Shah, former Khairpur district nazim Pir Syed Niaz Ali Shah, MNA Syed Javed Ali Shah Jillani, Brig Mansoor, Kha­ir­pur District Council Chai­r­man Shaharyar Was­san, Deputy Commissioner Moh­a­mmad Naeem Sandhu, MPAs Syed Ahmed Raza Shah and Munawwar Was­san, Pir Syed Bachal Shah and Pir Syed Mashooq Shah were among the prominent figures who attended the funeral.

The DC had announced a local holiday in the district for Monday (Nov 11) on account of the demise of the Pir of Ranipur.
