WANA: The South Waziristan police on Saturday recovered 23 sacks of pine nuts (chalghoza) worth Rs12 million, which had been taken away from a godown in Wana three days ago, and arrested two accused.

Regional police officer Feroz Shah had directed the Wana police station SHO Usman Wazir to arrest the robbers and recover the chalghoza sacks taken away from a godown in Wana.

A police team intercepted an accused in Dera Ismail Khan and recovered three sacks of pine nuts from his possession.

On his tip, the police raided a hideout in the Shakai tehsil of South Waziristan and recovered rest of the 20 sacks. The police also arrested another accused during the raid who was trying to shift the pine nuts to another place in the area.

The police registered the case and started further investigations.

The RPO announced cash prizes and commendation certificates for the police team.
