MULTAN: The medical superintendent of the Mian Channu Tehsil Headquarters (THQ) Hospital was killed by two unidentified persons on Friday.

Dr Ashaar Masood was traveling on national highway along his driver when two persons wearing mask opened fire on him near Pandaraanwala Phattak.

He was immediately shifted to the THQ hospital to be referred to Nishtar Hospital for his critical condition. He, however, lost his life on way due to serious injuries.

According to a colleague of Dr Masood someone made a call to Dr Masood while asking him to reach the spot and when he arrived there, the killers opened fire on him.

Doctors’ representatives called the incident targeted killing and demanded the early arrest of the culprits involved in killing of Dr Masood.
