LAHORE: A special court for the Control of Narcotics Substance on Thursday issued a notice to ANF on bail petition of former law minister Rana Sanaullah Khan in a 15kg heroin recovery case.

Duty Judge Khalid Bashir took up the petition and directed the ANF to submit its reply on Nov 9.

Advocate Farhad Ali Shah represented the petition pleading that record of the Punjab Safe City Authority established the innocence of Khan and rejected the story of the prosecution. He said the video record showed that the vehicle of Khan traveled a distant of 14.5km within the span of 10 minutes after his arrest and other events mentioned in the FIR.

The counsel said the events of the FIR were not humanly possible to be happened within 10 minutes. He said the case against the petitioner was a result of political victimisation. He said asked the court to release the petitioner on bail.

Previously, the duty judge had on Sept 30 dismissed a petition of Khan seeking bail on other grounds.

D&SJ Shakir Hassan will take charge of the CNS court as regular incumbent on Nov 8 as per a notification issued by the LHC.
