SUKKUR: A fierce clash between armed men belonging to the Jagirani and Lolai communities left three persons, including a young girl, dead and another three persons wounded in the katcha area of Ghouspur on Tuesday.

The two communities living in the Katcho Keti area of Kandhkot-Kashmore district have been at odds for four years. Violent acts against each other during the period had claimed four lives until the latest clash.

Reports from the area suggested that the two sides traded gunfire again on Tuesday causing great panic and fear among local residents. Police rushed to the area to bring the situation under control. After the guns fell silent, the police transported the victims to the Ghouspur rural health centre, where the deceased were identified as Umed Ali aka Hazaro Lolai, Ali Mohammed Jagirani and a minor girl, Asifa Jagirani alias Moomal. The bodies were handed over to the heirs after a post-mortem examination.
