SAHIWAL, Aug 7: PPP Punjab president Qasim Zia has criticized Provincial Agriculture Minister Muhammad Arshad Khan Lodhi for allegedly running the election campaign of his son-in-law, Naveed Lodhi.

He was speaking at the election campaign of Awam Dost candidate Tanveer Khan on Saturday night at Harappa while other PPP office-bearers were also present on this occasion.

He alleged that Naved Lodhi still held the office of the district zakat committee chairman and was allegedly giving zakat cheques to people to get popularity which was tantamount to pre-poll rigging.

Qasim Zia said Punjab Agriculture Minister Muhammad Arshad Khan Lodhi had recently announced provision of Rs35 million for gas supply to Harappa on a priority basis.

He appealed to the Election Commission of Pakistan to look into this pre-poll rigging and disqualify such people.
