TAXILA: Chief Minister Usman Buzdar has approved Rs4 billion for executing different development projects in Attock district during the current fiscal year.

Punjab Public Accounts Committee (PAC) chairman Syed Yawar Abbas Bokhari said this while talking to mediapersons at his residence in Attock on Friday.

Giving details of the projects, he said a mother and child health care hospital would be built in Attock and trauma centre in Gondal, which would ensure better health

facilities to the residents of Attock and nearby areas.

He said that the government was also appointing doctors and paramedics to address the issue of staff shortage in various health units of the district.

Mr Bokhari said that the chief minister had also issued directives for dualisation of Teenmeela-Haji Shah road, Golra link road, Sanjwal’s barrier 1- barrier 2 road and Madrota road.

He said that construction of these roads would provide better travel facilities to people of the area.

Earlier, the Punjab Public Accounts Committee chairman visited the Education University and Govt Degree College for Women in Attock where authorities of both the institutions apprised him of the facilities being provided to the students and problems faced by them.

He said that efforts would be made to provide maximum facilities to the students in both the institutions.
