KASUR, Aug 6: Four people, including two children, were killed when the roof of a house in Kot Murad Khan here collapsed during heavy wind and rainstorm which lashed the city and its suburbs on Friday night.

Police sources said Sughra, 45, wife of Tufail of Mohallah Mai Jiwai, along with two of her children Allah Rakha, 8, and Allah Ditta, 3, had taken refuge in the house of a neighbour, Bori, as part of her own house had caved in during the rain.

However, the roof of the house they had considered safe also caved in, killing all three as well as the home owner. Her husband rushed over from the adjoining house to help but to no avail and he was himself injured in the effort to remove the debris and save his family.

The police handed over the bodies to the heirs after necessary formalities, while the injured man was admitted to hospital where his condition is stated to be stable.—APP
