MUZAFFARABAD, Aug 6: The employees of Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation have voiced dissatisfaction with the organisation’s directors over their failure to introduce revised pay scales with raised salaries.

The new pay scales were supposed to be implemented from July 1.

The local representatives of the PBC employees’ union accused their board of directors here on Saturday of neglecting the interests of employees.

A union leader said the directors had already taken advantage of the new pay scale but they were reluctant to do the same for others.

He claimed that the PBC was facing discrimination as compared to other state-owned electronic media. According to him, the salary and other allowances of PTV employees were much higher than their PBC counterparts.

The union leader also criticized the appointments made on contract basis in the PBC and urged Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz to intervene in the matter and grant PBC employees their due right.
