KARAK: The people of different areas of Karak took to the streets on Saturday to demand legal gas connections.

Demonstrations were held at Mianki in Takht-i-Nusrati and at Kanda area of Karak tehsil to protest the failure of SNGPL to provide legal gas connections to the people.

The residents of Mianki blocked Takht-i-Nusrati-Mianwali Road, saying they would continue to use facility through illegal means if they were not provided with legal connections.

The protesters, who also included women and children, also criticised the registration of FIRs against local elders.

They also criticised MNA Shahid Khan Khattak for not realising his election promise to provide legal gas facility to the people.

In Kanda area, the people said they were ready to dislodge illegal connections if they were provided with legal ones.
