LAHORE: The Punjab and federal governments have agreed upon having a comprehensive liaison to ensure better law and order in the province.

This was decided in a meeting co-chaired by Chief Minister Usman Buzdar and federal interior minister retired Brig Ijaz Shah at the chief minister’s office on Saturday.

The chief minister said the government would take every possible step to safeguard the life and property of the citizens.

“Action will be taken against law-breaking elements without any discrimination,” he said.

Ordering the police to launch an operation against criminals without any discrimination, the chief minister sought strict checking on the entry and exit points of the province.

The chief secretary, IG, additional chief secretary (home) and other officials concerned attended the meeting.

FOREIGN TOURS: Under the austerity policy, the chief minister has banned provincial ministers and secretaries from proceeding on foreign tours.

The ban will be enforced with immediate effect till further orders.
