LAHORE: Eight passengers were injured, two of them critically, after a 22-wheel trailer hit two vans near Saggian bridge on Saturday.

The incident occurred owing to failure of the brakes, an official said, adding that the driver of the trailer truck lost control and hit his vehicle with two passenger vans.

Of them, he said, a coach was carrying 45 passengers. The Rescue 1122 ambulances shifted the injured to hospital where the condition of two of them was stated to be serious.

The official said the driver of the trailer also suffered injuries in the accident.

The Islampura police compounded the truck and started further investigation.
