Education, unfortunately has become a business in our country. People brainstorming for business ideas often have a school or a coaching centre in mind.

What are the factors anyone would consider before deciding on a business — initial investment and healthy profit generation. An educational institute is a perfect blend of the aforementioned elements, especially when there is no authority to oversee such institutes.

Mostly, these business-oriented educational institutes are established in bungalows or non-commercial apartment buildings. This is against the law.

The quality of education provided by these institutions is nothing compared to the exorbitant fees they demand, preparing students only for selected topics that are guaranteed to be a part of final examinations.

As a result, passing examinations without acquiring knowledge has become a common practice among students.

I want the minister for education to have an authority that should oversee the fees these schools and coaching centres demand for the low quality education they provide.
