LAHORE, Oct 14: Jamaat-i-Islami Pakistan deputy secretary general Farid Piracha criticized the PTV on Sunday for what he called its biased reporting of attacks on Afghanistan.

In a press statement, he said the news coverage, analysis and comments being screened by the PTV gave the impression that the PTV people were happy over the destruction of the Afghan people.

Mr Piracha said the UN had confirmed the targeting of civilians in the attacks on Afghanistan by the US-led forces, there had been protest all over the world and even the United States had acknowledged it, but the PTV continued saying the attacks were against terrorists.

He also regretted PTV’s lack of coverage of anti-war and anti-US demonstrations in London, Berlin, Jakarta, New Delhi as well as Pakistan. He termed the PTV conduct dishonest.
