Babusar accident

Published October 15, 2019

THIS refers to the tragic bus accident at Babusar Pass in which 26 people lost their lives, while 20 were seriously injured. One reason for such huge number of casualties was that nobody used seatbelt and pathetic condition of the bus.

There are other reasons too behind this accident, but the major cause was negligence and carelessness by Gilgit-Baltistan authorities. After such a huge loss there was a mock operation and investigation by the authorities who sealed the office of the transport company.

But after a short time, the transport company restarted its business because of inaction on the part of the authorities concerned. There should be a fair investigation of this accident to punish the culprits whose apathy resulted in so many deaths.
